the pursuit of property

Here is an interesting article from the New York Times about an industrious and hard nosed woman from Chongqing challenging the land developers. While it attempts to draw a parallel between big business and the governments "wink wink nudge nudge" relationships, it fails to uncover the protagonists own guanxi. Interesting article which I believe is indicative of things to come for the increasingly vocal Chinese middle class.
